CWA and DirecTV have agreed to extend the current contract until June 11th, 2022. The Union continues to push DirecTV to address the outstanding issues that remain.

Since our last report we have been working to analyze and understand the newly proposed DirecTV benefit plans. As these are new plans and a new company, this is taking a great deal of time and effort to come to an understanding on both cost and design of the plans.

As we are continuing to progress towards an agreement that meets the needs of CWA members, CWA and DirecTV have agreed to extend the current contract until May 14th, 2022. The Union will continue to push DirecTV to address the outstanding issues that remain.

Since our last report we have reached tentative agreements on a number of provisions with the Company, mainly around non-economic issues and work rules. We are still researching the health care data in order to formulate a complete response to the Company’s proposal.

As we are continuing to progress towards an agreement that meets the needs of CWA members, CWA and DirecTV have agreed to extend the current contract until April 30th, 2022. The Union and the Company plan to continue to work in good faith during the extension to reach a fair agreement.

In the past number of days the Union presented the Company with proposals on Wages, Relief Differential, Contracting and Scheduling, Holidays, Personal Time Off and a number of others. The Company presented a number of proposals, including Benefits, Staffing, Grievance Procedure, and Definitions.

The CWA committee is reviewing the company’s proposals looking for areas of agreement and disagreement. DirecTV also responded to a number of CWA data requests that we are reviewing in order to address some of the pending proposals.

First, a sincere thanks to all of our DIRECTV members for the continued support and dedication you have demonstrated throughout this difficult bargaining process.  As you are aware, when the new DIRECTV was formed, part of the agreement made by the new DIRECTV was to honor ten (10) different contracts.  After discussions between CWA and the new DIRECTV, an agreement was made to enter into negotiations in hopes of consolidating the ten (10) contracts into one (1).
