DIRECTV Bargaining Report #1
DIRECTV Bargaining Report #1
Bargaining kicked off yesterday, September 12, 2016, between AT&T and the Communications Workers of America, Districts 3, 4, and 6 for the former DIRECTV Home- Services.
Mike Neumann, Area Director of CWA District 6 and Chair of the CWA Bargaining Committee began the negotiating session with a brief opening statement. Rob Zurovec, Executive Director of AT&T Labor Relations and Chair of the AT&T Bargaining Committee also gave a short opening statement.
The Union presented bargaining proposals on seniority/ net credit service, wages, and benefits. Each proposal was explained fully to the Company, informing them, that our former DIRECTV Employees and new CWA Members expect to be treated the same as all AT&T members with good and decent wages, benefits that are on par with the other AT&T members and to bring their full service credit with them from their former DIRECTV career. Our committee informed the Company that our members expect to be rewarded with decent and fair wages, a fully packaged benefit plan, with fair and decent medical, dental, vision, pension, and savings plans the same as our present CWA Members in the Labor Agreement. We are prepared to work as long as it takes to bring a decent and fair contract to our members.
