NewsGuild-CWA Locals Make Retired Members Council Membership Even Easier

Earlier this month, the NewsGuild of New York (TNG-CWA Local 31003) and the Washington-Baltimore News Guild (TNG-CWA Local 32035) announced that they will provide new and future retirees with a Lifetime Membership in the CWA Retired Members Council (RMC).
The move came after RMC Media Sector Vice President Mark Pattison encouraged locals to revitalize their RMC membership at the NewsGuild Sector Conference during the CWA National Convention in Pittsburgh.
NewsGuild of New York President Susan Decarava said, “The Executive Committee unanimously passed a motion granting lifetime membership to the New York Guild Retiree Council and its chapter to all retirees, honoring their ongoing dedication to the labor movement. This motion was inspired by and celebrates the retirement of Kathy Wilmore, the longtime Scholastic Unit Chair, whose many years of dedicated service and unwavering commitment to the advancement of our members and all workers exemplify the true spirit of solidarity and leadership.”
