Yasir Lalla

Yasir A. Lalla was originally from Trinidad and Tobago. He migrated to United States of America and created a new life with his wife, three children and two grandchildren. Lalla started at OSU Medical Center about nine years ago as a Technician II. Slowly, he made his way to an Area Steward for Communication Workers of America Local 4501 and was promoted to Chief Steward. Lalla was on the contract negotiation team for years 2018 and 2021.

He was promoted to a Senior Technician five years ago at the University under FOD.  Lalla has been on numerous committees with the goal to help members and leadership create a healthy environment. Lalla was appointed to the position of Executive Vice President0by President Mericle Long. He is happy to work with President Long as the first female and black President of Local 4501. Together, they will work diligently for the future of the membership. "We are here to help build a powerful movement that reaches beyond the workplace and to empower working families"
