Linda Gales

Linda Gales has been President of Local 4730 since January 2014. She first joined the Local in the mid-1990s when it was new on the Bloomington campus. Her father had been a union member and she thought it was important for the support staff to stand together on important issues. Before this office, she was the Vice-President. Her first real involvement with the Local was when she came to a members’ meeting and left it being on the Election Committee. She worked in the BloomingtonOffice of the Registrar from 1992 until 2014, when she and several others in her office retired early because of eliminations of positions in a reorganization. She is also one of the Stewards, as well as the Office Manager for the Local Office.
