Update 2/18
Here is the list of questions from our Q&A session at the TA meeting:
Q. Under Emergency Room, there is an asterisk stating “true emergencies only. Non emergencies not covered.” How is this defined and who determines if it is considered an emergency?
A. The suggested symptoms/conditions listed are covered. Other life threatening/altering conditions also covered. If PCP tells you to go to ER, visit will be covered. The suggestions on when to use urgent care vs emergency room are in current SPD. Difference is coverage on non- emergencies being used in an emergency room setting.
Q. Was there any discussion about a cost-of-living raise?
A. No, the wage package was above the norm, especially with the 5% increase being established the first year and compounded in subsequent years.
Q. What are the HSA rules?
A. The HSA match will be for Option 2 Medical Plans only. The company will match up to $1000 single or $2000 for spouse, children, or family plan. This is matched quarterly in the Heath Savings Account.
Q. Will there be a path to transfer from Appendix F to Core (Group 1 positions? Currently open positions are being filled by current group 1 employees.
A. A path for moving into core from Appendix F was established in 2018. They are considered in the mix along with other core members. Placement is still based on a total point value of skills, seniority, and other factors.
Q. Was Juneteenth brought to the table to be added as a recognized holiday.
A. No, the emphasis was to secure MLK in the main contract. The mention of Juneteenth was not significant in the bargaining survey.
